Ember.js started as a simple project to illustrate key features on their homepage. I created the Tomster character as a lovable and adorable hamster icon. Unexpectedly, he became the foundation of their community building. Tomster and Zoey have became so beloved and popular that a program was created to allow Ember.js’s many user groups to commission their own iconic version.
As of today, there are more than 35 versions of Tomster in over 25 different user groups. He’s become an international superstar! The Ember.js family has even expanded the hamster family to include a sister named Zoey. Zoey is slowly even beginning to build her own following.
